Times are tough in the Middle East right now- well, they have been tough for over 2000 years, but you know what I mean. Israel and Palestine are going at it like feral cats fighting in an alley. I never really understood the whole thing until a few years ago- most conflicts based on religion are confusing to most people anyway. To me, it seems like an asinine premise (for any religion) to kill people in the name God, and it seems like every religion has this dark period in its past.   This guy later died from, you guessed it, a snake bite. The Opt Out movement during the Thanksgiving Day travel was a bust, proving that people will give up a little personal freedom to get through a line quicker. There were no long lines because of people being maliciously compliant with the new TSA security measures, although TSA did flinch a little and shut down many scanners in large airports. This looks staged to me but even if it is legit, I guarantee you the father of these two young girls will change his sign when he sees them getting felt up in front of everyone else in line with their shirts up and panties showing. But hey, he feels good now and that's all that matters.  Personally, I think this whole TSA pat-down policy is a charade, a ruse to perpetuate the perception that the government cares about us when we travel and that these TSA Agents are protecting us from terrorist attacks. It has been almost a month since Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the U.N. and the rest of the World that the Holocaust was a crock of poo-poo, that Israel is a regime that "won't last long" and then continued on to talk about Iran's full-speed-ahead nucular (sic) program. That takes a gigantic set of balls, even bigger than self proclaimed genius and world proclaimed douchebag Kanye West after his embarrassing stunt on stage with Taylor Swift. Even Tiger Woods can't come close with his last transparent and honey-do forced news conference apologizing for his few hundred isolated incidents of infidelity. Yes, it takes a set of balls so big that a even a bad case of elephantiasis pales in comparison. For crying out loud, even Germany said Ahmadinejad was a "disgrace to his country". The really sad part of this ridiculousness is that there will be some weak minded, gullible and just plain stupid people out there who will believe this garbage....

When you pull in to San Diego, a trip south of the border is a must. I saw many street side "zebras" many years ago during an overnight romp in TJ- poor burros were painted and then laden with boxes of chicklets. Here is a story about a Gaza zoo who's owners used hair dye and masking tape to turn a donkey into a make shift zebra. WHy would this crazy Palestinian do such a thing? His reasons are twofold: First: "The first reason so that the children would see a striped donkey and think zebra and then they might feel like they saw a new animal today." OK, so you wanted to trick the children and lied by telling them that this abomination is a zebra. Second: "The second reason is because it is difficult to get a striped donkey because it is very expensive and all the animals we get we smuggle them inside." I don't see what the problem is. I have been reading Michael J. Totten's blog for some time now and I am always amazed at his first had accounts in the Middle East. Totten is a journalist who frequently travels through out Lebanon and Israel. In his latest epilogue he travels with another journalist escorted by 2 Lebanese men, who work for the Committee for UNSCR 1559, into Hezbollah territory. The article has pictures of damage from Israel's attack in July 2006, billboards in Christian and Hezbollah populated territories, and intriguing dialogue. It is one of many articles Totten will write and I encourage you to read them all to gain insight into the local attitudes and perceptions that are hardly convered my the MSM.
