2010 Olympic Fashion Show.. err. Games

Just inside one week after the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV (that's 44 if you didn't pass the 8th grade) the first Olympic Games of the new decade launched yesterday in Vancouver, Canada. Sorry, Chicago. Coincidentally, I had a short layover in O'Hare yesterday and all I could think about was how much different this airport would have looked had they not been bumped in the first round. I thought the same thing when I was in South Bend, Indiana and saw a meager little shelf in the airport gift shop dedicated to the Colts. Although the Games were kicked off by the death of a luger from Georgia - the country, not the state- the procession, led by Greece, was a success for all the fashion police of the world who have just recovered from the Grammy's. From the sexually-ambiguous-figure-skater Johnny Wier's choice of faux fur with the imminent backlash from PETA (haha) to the dreadlock-wearing-Japanese-snowboarder -with-an-identity-crisis taking fashion lessons from K-Fed...

U.S. loses 2016 Olympics, America safer

It appears Obama is pretty shaken up about it. I read the decision by the Olympic committee to dump Chicago in the first round. Watching the Obamas try and convince the committee to come to the U.S. was absolutely pathetic. That meeting was supposed to be about money, logistics and convincing the committee that Chicago could handle the swarm of people from around the world, not about having to listen to the First Lady cry like a Homecoming Queen as she brought up her childhood. Lame, lame, lame. In exceptionally good taste was the avenue in which the Obamas took to deliver their speeches to the 106 member Olympic Committee. The failed trip was paid for by our tax dollars. I think that the Obamas are quit upset at this failure because it is so 'in their face'- there is no body else to blame but themselves, no scape goat this time. He has failed many times but the media and his aids have always had an excuse to bail him out. Oh, they are all over this one but nobody is buyin...

wtf, over....

Bernie Mac died at age 50 the other day, Isaac Hayes died today at 65. I guess show business can be rough. Only the good die young. - Billy Joel I didn't listen to Bernie Mac's stand up except for maybe a few minutes as I was channel surfing. He was playing in Vegas a few weeks ago when I went for the weekend with my wife. I have posted about Isaac Hayes when he decided to leave South Park after the creators dogged the stupidity that is Scientology. Hayes didn't seem to have a problem when Matt Stone and Trey Parker made fun of all the other world religions. I didn't read the story about Hayes but I can only guess he didn't die by falling off a suspended bridge while on fire, only to fall off and become impaled on a pointy rock, and then mauled apart by a hungry bear and mountain lion- then ending in a violent release of his bowels. Cosmically ironic if it did though. On top of these weekend deaths, visitors to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing have been murdered. The fa...
