Aloha Dump in Layup

Since I have moved from Hawaii after my retirement I have had little time to devote to this forum. I guess I didn't really know how much free time I had my last year in the Navy.

As a result, I am putting this blog in layup. I feel that although the spirit is still there, the time and energy required to write anything substantial is not. I hate copy and paste blogs and I feel that is what I have forced to do just to have something on the page to let people know I am still alive. It's not that I don't have anything to say, but I just don't have the energy to research and post like I used to.

I am working for a solar power company now as a technical trainer, something the Navy groomed me for. I am loving my position and have become very aware of our environment and the need to get off fossil fuels. It will be a hard transition but I am certain it has to be done.

I might start a new blog that focuses on my new found interest in solar power. It is a fledgling industry here in the U.S. for the most part and there are a lot of preconceived notions that need to be dispelled. Perhaps a new blog will be an avenue for me educate the masses.

Thank you for the emails and support; Alohadump will be left up because I still receive comments from past posts. Good luck to all my fellow bloggers.

  5. I know the feeling, my friend; sometimes there's this thing -- what do you call it? Oh, right, "life" -- that seems to eat up all the time, energy and interest in blogging.

Still, if you've a moment, drop a line and let us know how you're doing.

Fare winds and following seas. shipmate.
