Another "What is my political philosophy?" website

Whenever I see a new site that attempts to define my political philosophy by asking 10 questions I just have to take the quiz. They all end the same- lumping me into the Republican category. Regardless of how "in-depth" the quizzes claim to be, however, they all suck. They suck because they do not take into account the people who do not have a yes or no position. I think many people do not really care one way or the other about a great many things. I do not care if gay marriage becomes legalized or not and there is not a political party for that. The quizzes strong-arm the quiz taker into a yes or no position with no grey area to spare. I find the same narrowing viewpoint with questions about US military action- if you support the military then you are auto-lumped into the group that thinks we are supposed to be International Meter Maids preemptively taking out any crazed dictator who claims to hate the United States. Smaller entities who ...

Obama bama mo mamma

For a while the young, up-and-coming Senator from Illinois gave me a reason to vote for the dementia that is the Democratic party. I like Giulliani; he did some good with his broken window project of NYC and I admire his efforts in 2001 when his city became the focal point for our war on terror. I don’t know much about his politics, mainly because I haven’t taken the time to Google them. I expect, however, that they will align fairly close to my own. McCain has military service, and is a war hero at that, and he has some good ideas on how to handle our troops; but his illegal immigration stance doesn’t do it for me. There are some other presidential hopefuls but they are just political chaff. So, back to Obama. I wondered how long it would take before his name would be used in some clever pun to describe the Senator’s political views. And I was right. Hat tip to Power Line for the coined phrase "Obamanations", used to describe the verbal slip-ups the greenhorn Senator has mad...

Quite a day

I woke up to a Democrat controlled Congress and House, Rumsfeld's resignation, a new Speaker of the House and the blogosphere in a tizzy. Bad day for Republicans, good day for terrorists. The people have spoken and we had a good run Republican's. No matter, the same thing happened to Clinton and Reagan; the only thing left to do is see what happens in 2 years, especially with crazy Pelosi leading the way. I find it unsurprising that the moonbats were donning their tinfoil hats in celebration over their victories, showing just as much poor sportsmanship for their wins today as their losses 2 years ago. At least Arnold won his second term. Gay marriage bans, illegal immigration reform, stem cell research, and marijuana possession- all of which I could give 2 shits for right now- were waving in an ebb and flow last night, some made it and some didn't. Coincidentally, none of these issues were on the ballots here in Hawaii. In fact, some places here were late in opening for the...
